چکیده

Geomorphological research in the Fann Mountains of Pamir-Alay has indicated that subnival processes are occurring. Contemporary sediments indicate complex relationships occur between snow patches, waters, and ground. Underneath a semi-permanent patch, melts slowly from direction ground, resulting hollow is filled with produced by wash-down river terraces. The energy waters washes away displaces present underneath but also causes them to be redeposited. sediment features imply significant impact relief under patch on thickness nival deposits nivation mechanism. may hydrostatic pressure, which considerable both snowmelt sedimentation processes.

Apomixis is not prevalent in subnival to nival plants of the European Alps

BACKGROUND AND AIMS High alpine environments are characterized by short growing seasons, stochastic climatic conditions and fluctuating pollinator visits. These conditions are rather unfavourable for sexual reproduction of flowering plants. Apomixis, asexual reproduction via seed, provides reproductive assurance without the need of pollinators and potentially accelerates seed development. There...

Co-Occurrence Patterns of Plants and Soil Bacteria in the High-Alpine Subnival Zone Track Environmental Harshness

Plants and soil microorganisms interact to play a central role in ecosystem functioning. To determine the potential importance of biotic interactions in shaping the distributions of these organisms in a high-alpine subnival landscape, we examine co-occurrence patterns between plant species and bulk soil bacteria abundances. In this context, a co-occurrence relationship reflects a combination of...
